The site is located in Parankipettai a small village between cuddalore and Chidambaram in its strategic location along the beautiful back waters, agricultural fields, wetlands and lush greens which provide an exquisite juxtaposition of color and topography. Knowing that we had a responsibility to build tourist accommodation, we took maximum care to have a minimal effect on the local nature we chose to build small and dispersed huts in each artificial pond, promoting more intimate relationships between the visitor and the water body.”

Entire site is around 100 acres and land is modified for prawn farming, the whole land profile modified to 85 lagoons of 1 to 1.5 acre each with the depth of 10 to 12feet. Upon site analysis, we came up with an idea to develop “Floating Eco Resort” by utilizing existing land form .Water flows from the river to the few existing ponds in the site and flows back in the river, specialized water routing system was developed to balance the water level.

The floating cottages were designed as different combinations of three identical modules, which include a living room and kitchen, an entrance and bathroom, plus one bedroom in single and two storyed structures. The prefabricated lodges sit on ‘stilts’ with steel columns resting on concrete piers

The rest of the site will be devoted to recreation and leisure –most notable will be the Aqualagon, boating & golf area. Surrounding sustainable gardens will evoke the four elements of nature (water, air, earth and fire) and there will also be an Adventure Island for play, an interactive farm to teach about sustainable food .The developers hope to open Villages Nature to the public soon.
